Ruzafa | Valencia
– The district Ruzafa in Valencia has lots of cafes, restaurants and coffee bars. There is enough choice and I have visited a lot of places. Of the coffee bars, Artysana remains my favourite. Below you can read why :).
Recommended by a friend
Artysana was one of the first new places I discovered after I moved to Valencia in January 2017. A friend of mine who had worked there recommended it. By that time the place was called Guayoyo, because other owners were running the place. The new owners, a young couple from Germany and Pakistan, really surprised me. They are very kind and they put a lot of effort in making the place working well.
Healthy sandwiches and juices
The newbies are following almost the same concept as the previous owners: healthy homemade sandwiches, toasts and juices. I usually take the toast with berenjena (eggplant) and cherry tomatoes or the toast with hummus and cucumbers. Both very tasty! I also like the brunch they serve for only 8/9 euros. You get a lot for very little money! To start, I usually take a yoghurt with a fresh orange juice, after that a toast and as a dessert a delicious carrot cake with coffee or tea.
A lovely courtyard
With good weather you can stay in their small courtyard, perfect in combination with a good book. I also like to come to Artysana to work on my laptop. It is often quiet inside and is therefore a perfect place to work. Furthermore, every now and then they organize some nice events such as live music. It’s definitely worth to go there once!
Hopefully you liked my tip about this breakfast/lunch spot in Ruzafa!
Love, Sofie
