Ruzafa is known as the trendiest neighbourhood of Valencia. The streets of Ruzafa are filled with bars, restaurants and cool shops. Do you feel like drinking a coffee in this trendy neighbourhood? Below you will find my list of the best coffee bars in Ruzafa. Enjoy it!
1.Ubik – The living room of Ruzafa
Ubik is a cosy place for some relaxing time in Ruzafa. It has an alternative living room feeling, where you can easily end up speaking with a local. That’s what I really like about Ubik: it has a very social and open ambiance.
You can drink a beer in combination with cheap and good tapas, or you can drink a coffee and read a book from their library. Every day of the week and at every time of the day Ubik is a great place to visit, however, for me the best day to go is on Sunday. On Sundays you can enjoy different kinds of live music: from relaxing jazz music to strong and emotional flamenco. I would really recommend for everyone to experience it one time.
2.Artysana – Lovely atmosphere and great owners
Artysana is definitely my favourite. There is always a very relaxed atmosphere and the owners are very kind! They always serve the food to the customers with a smile. Therefore, loyal customers like me, come back to reunite with friends and family.
On the menu you can find healthy and tasty toasts and sandwiches. As a desert or to combine something sweet with your coffee you can choose one of their homemade cakes. I highly recommend the carrot cake! Besides that, they serve healthy fresh juices and everything for an affordable price. It’s definitely worth going there!
3.La Mas Bonita – Hotspot Valencia
La Mas Bonita is a very famous hotspot in Valencia. In front of La Mas Bonita at the beach there is always a waiting list to get a table. Looking for the La Mas Bonita experience but less busy? Then I would recommend their location in Ruzafa. The place really gives you a summer feeling, because of the light blue and white decoration.
On the menu you can find delicious cakes, sandwiches, salads, bites to share and fresh juices. My favourite sandwiches are the Club Sandwich Especial and Sandwich La Más Bonita. Can’t you resists all the cakes on display? Try the Red Velvet cake or Kinder Bueno! Besides the sweet cakes sometimes I prefer their delicious detox juice with lime, apple, ginger and mint.
4.Dulce de Leche – Cake heaven
Dulce the Leche definitely belongs to this list. Dulce de Leche is one of the most famous coffee bars in Ruzafa, so don’t be surprised to see a lot of tourists. You literally walk into a cake heaven when you enter the bar. Chocolate cake, carrot cake, Oreo cheesecake, muffins, it all looks so delicious that it’s always hard to choose. When I worked in Ruzafa, I went to Dulce de Leche almost every week. I came there to drink a coffee, to have breakfast, lunch or brunch. It’s an amazing hotspot with a great vintage interior.
5.Coffee Time – Handmade roasted coffee
Essential for coffee lovers! Coffee Time is one of the best places to taste and learn about coffee in Ruzafa. They have handmade roasted coffee from different parts of the world. They only have green coffee previously selected by specialized importers who work to guarantee the best harvests from all over the world. Companies that ensure that farmers and cooperatives are treated fairly.
Coffee Time is located in the local market of Ruzafa, which makes it extra special and gives it a very nice atmosphere. The owners are very sweet and they have a lot of knowledge about their products. I definitely recommend everyone to go to Coffee Time when you are in Ruzafa.
6.Blue Bell – The best coffee
Blue Bell is not a standard coffee bar: they serve their own special roasted coffee. But not only for coffee lovers it’s a great spot, they also serve delicious food. I love to come to Blue Bell for breakfast, lunch or brunch. The only disadvantage is the service sometimes. When it’s busy (especially in the weekends) it can take a lot of time before you can even order. Yet, I like to come to Bluebell, because in my opinion they are the best when it comes to quality of the food and the attention they put in their good looking plates.
P.S. They also have a beautiful patio where you can enjoy the sun.
7.Cafecito – Cosy and a lovely terrace
Close to the food market of Ruzafa you can find a cosy spot called Cafecito. A big benefit of this place is their terrace. With approximately 8 tables you can enjoy the good weather and the good view: the market of Ruzafa and the beautiful church Parroquial de San Valero y San Vicente Mártir.
When it’s cold just take a seat inside. It’s very small, but that’s actually what I really liked about the place, because that makes it very cosy. I just went to Cafecito ones for some bites and we ordered nachos and some fresh juices. Both were very tasteful and I really liked the friendly waiter. He was smiling all the time! Besides bites, you can order salads, quesadillas, tapas and burgers.
You can take a coffee at Cafecito at any time of the day, because they are opened all day from 10:00 o’clock in the morning until 23:00 o’clock in the night. Enjoy!
7.Mano a Mano – Great interior
Mano a Mano is a quite new spot in Ruzafa. They opened their doors in September 2017. In December 2017 I visited the place for the first time and my first impression was very good. The waitress was very kind, I liked the decoration and the food I tried was very good. I chose the toast with tomato spread and salmon and the toast with goat cheese. I both loved it!
You can visit Mano a Mano for just a coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. The menu offers many different dishes like couscous, salads, nachos, toasts, hamburgers and so on.
I hope you liked my tips about coffee bars in the district Ruzafa in Valencia. Do you know another place that definitely belongs to this list? Just let me know!
